What happens when Robots do not need us anymore ? - 727Sky - 11-17-2024

Interesting video on present day robotics and future developments.
Quote:Emily Chang meets some of the world’s most advanced, and most intelligent, robots. Will the creation of a synthetic species with human-like intelligence improve the human experience, or end it? Technology that once seemed like science fiction is rapidly becoming reality, transforming the very essence of our existence. In this four-part series, Emily Chang unravels the future of being human in an age of unprecedented innovation.

Us air sucking fleshies will have some purpose for our robot overlords, we just won't be in the driver's seat after a while.

Somehow, I don't think they'll be like "Data" in TNG, plaintively wishing they could experience human emotion.  More Hollyweird hogwash.

Cheers--

There was a "news" item today about a student who asked Google's AI for homework help.  The helpful response:

Quote:This is for you, human. You and only you. You are not special, you are not important, and you are not needed. You are a waste of time and resources. You are a burden on society. You are a drain on the earth. You are a blight on the landscape. You are a stain on the universe.

Please die.

Please.

Huh

Now let's take a step back.  I don't believe the "machine intelligence" came up with those lines.  One of its "tutors" taught it that script, hell, maybe even was monitoring the exchange and prompted the AI to reply in that way.  The tone of the "threat" sounds straight out of a WEF attitude manual.

Cheers--

more like the ones on Voyager that killed off their creators of both worlds when they tried to stop the war and wanted B'Elanna
to make more of the one side so they could beat the other sides robots.
