More speculation about the SR-72 son of Blackbird - 727Sky - 11-16-2024 Funny how they say son of Blackbird yet when in the cockpit most guys refer to their aircraft as a "she" especially if the bitch is trying to kill you ! The hold up has been the power plants if they are going to get the speed and altitude they want out of the machine.... not to mention the material science to keep the bird from turning into a melted piece of slag . At those speeds not even teeth, hair, and eyeballs are left if there is a malfunction/breakup of the air frame.
