A federal disaster relief official ordered workers to bypass the homes of Donald Trump’s supporters as they surveyed damage caused by Hurricane Milton in Florida, according to internal correspondence obtained by The Daily Wire and confirmed by multiple federal employees. 
A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire. 

The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance, meaning they were not given the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) dismissed Vice President Kamala Harris' call to provide Hurricane Ian aid to only "communities of color" and then see what's left for white Floridians after.
Last week, Harris argued during a speech that federal hurricane relief should be based on "equity," thus separating groups in need based on their skin color.

"We have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity, understanding not everyone starts out at the same place," Harris said.

Luckily, no one of importance listens to Harris. Sunday, FEMA chief Deanne Criswell insisted communities of all colors would receive relief if needed, despite Harris' wishes.
”We’re going to support all communities. I committed that to the governor, I commit to you right here that all Floridians are going to be able to get the help that is available to them through our programs,” Criswell said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation."
“These people that need our help the most are going to be able to access the help that we offer. I know that the vice president and the president, they share the same values,” Criswell said, adding “we are going to be there to support everybody that needs help.”
While thankfully Harris' equity-based relief idea proved moot, it's rather concerning that the VP of the United States supports rejecting relief claims for individuals who were born with the wrong skin color.
Harris supports a system that separates Americans by race, providing each with a different form of resources.
Racial regression is what Harris considers progress. Oh, I'm sorry, she calls it "equity."
The Left has used the disaster in Florida to push political messaging and policy. As Harris calls for white people to lose access to relief, her media allies Don Lemon and Joy Reid demand that we universally blame "climate change" for Hurricane Ian -- a claim experts have routinely debunked as false.
According to the Left, race and climate change highlight every tragedy. So, good for FEMA for ignoring this waste of space as a VP.

A Federal Emergency Management Agency worker has been fired after she directed workers helping hurricane survivors not to go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Donald Trump, the agency’s leader said in a statement Saturday.
“This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation,” FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said. “This was reprehensible.”

The agency did not identify the employee, nor did it say where it happened.
But Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling it “targeted discrimination” of Florida residents who support Trump, said it happened in Florida.
DeSantis said he has directed the Florida Division of Emergency Management to begin an investigation into the matter.
“The blatant weaponization of government by partisan activists in the federal bureaucracy is yet another reason why the Biden-Harris administration is in its final days,” DeSantis said on social media.
“New leadership is on the way in DC, and I’m optimistic that these partisan bureaucrats will be fired,” he said.
There were no details in FEMA’s statement or DeSantis’ comments about the time frame or community where the incident occurred. FEMA workers have been in the state helping residents recover from Hurricane Milton, which devastated many Florida communities last month.
Criswell said she is determined to hold employees accountable.
“I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again,” she said.

The FEMA supervisor who was fired after The Daily Wire revealed she directed disaster relief workers in Florida to “avoid homes” with signs advertising Donald Trump said on Tuesday that this was not an “isolated” incident, and is likely happening in disaster areas across the country. 
Marn’i Washington said that FEMA has a widespread policy of avoiding “politically hostile” homes during an interview with Roland Martin. She said that FEMA’s suggestion that she made an independent decision to avoid certain homes is a mischaracterization, stating that it is agency policy.

“FEMA always preaches avoidance first and then de-escalation, so this is not isolated,” Washington said. “This is a colossal event of avoidance not just in the state of Florida, but you will find avoidance in the Carolinas.”
“Senior leadership will lie to you and tell you that they do not know,” Washington said.

Ashley Moody, the state’s Republican attorney general, alleged FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell “agreed” to deny Trump supporters relief alongside the terminated employee, Marn’i Washington. 
“While the facts will continue to come out over the weeks and months, it is already clear that Defendant Washington conspired with senior FEMA officials, as well as those carrying out her orders, to violate the civil rights of Florida citizens,” reads the complaint.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in federal court in Fort Pierce, Fla., asks for unspecified damages and a declaration that the two FEMA officials unlawfully conspired to violate Floridians’ civil rights. 
“It’s unacceptable for the federal government to discriminate against Floridians who voted for Trump, and especially egregious in the aftermath of a hurricane,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ® said in a statement.
“I’m supportive of this legal action by the Attorney General’s Office, and I have instructed state agencies to likewise take any action necessary to investigate and ensure those who engaged in this behavior are held accountable.” 
A FEMA spokesperson declined to comment. Washington could not be reached for comment. 
Criswell publicly confirmed the employee’s termination Saturday and condemned the incident. 
“This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. This was reprehensible,” Criswell said in a statement. 
In an interview with journalist Roland S. Martin, Washington said FEMA was scapegoating her. It was common practice for teams to skip certain streets after past “hostile” interactions, she said. 
“They all alleged that these actions were made on my own recognizance and that it was from my own political advances. However, if you look at the record, there is what we call a community trend. And unfortunately, it just so happened that the political hostility that was encountered by my team — and I was on two different teams during this deployment — they just so happened to have the Trump campaign signage,” Washington said. 

“FEMA always preaches avoidance first and then de-escalation. So this is not isolated. This is a colossal event of avoidance,” she added. 
The lawsuit was assigned to U.S. District Judge Donald Middlebrooks, an appointee of former President Clinton, the case docket shows.
