Tulsi Gabbard leaves Democratic Party - 727Sky - 10-23-2024 IMO it is about time too ! Quote:For independent-thinkers like myself, there is no home in the Democrat Party. However, there is a home for us in the Republican Party. The Republican Party of warmongering elite Dick Cheney is in the past. Trump’s GOP is a big open tent party of the people, equality, commonsense, and the party that is led by a President who has the courage and strength to fight for peace. Tonight I stood with President Trump and announced I am joining the Republican Party. President Trump is our best and only hope in this election to lead our country toward a future where every one of us can live in a truly free, peaceful, and prosperous nation. Now is the time for us to stand together, vote for Trump and save our country. RE: Tulsi Gabbard leaves Democratic Party - Freija - 10-23-2024 Gabbard left the Democratic party in 2022 and became an independent. You're either a bit behind the times or your headline is misleading. Do you even still vote in U.S. elections? While it's true that Tulsi Gabbard defected from the Democrat Party a couple of years ago, she has now taken the next logical step and left the independents for the Republican Party. Gabbard was among the first in a long string of high-profile defections from the Democrat Party among old school Democrats who have come to realize that the Democrat Party has long ago abandoned the democratic principles it was founded upon. Those defections followed a large flurry of lower-level defections from the Democrat Party, for much the same reasons. For example, the sheriff of the neighboring county here left the Democrats and joined the Republicans before he could become a refugee among the Independents. The Democrat Party in that county screamed bloody murder about it, to no avail. His stated reasons were that the Democrats were no longer a party of peace or a party of law and order, and as his job was being a Peace Officer and standing for law and order, he could no longer be affiliated with the Democrats - who no longer stood for any of the above - and keep a clear conscience. That Sheriff was also a combat vet, just as Gabbard is and Walz isn't. I don't personally know any folks who have actually heard shots fired in anger or smelled the powder smoke who are Democrats, the party of war-mongering. Anyone who has actually seen the elephant knows war to be a terrible thing, and cannot abide by folks who beat their war drums without a damned good reason as the Democrats (and a fair number of pseudo-Republican RINOs) do. Oh, I know a few military vets who are Democrats, but no COMBAT vets who are so affiliated. To a man, the vets I know who are Democrats were paper pushers in the military, drinking coffee at a desk while shuffling papers around, and sending out OTHER folks to do the actual fighting and dying. Whenever their turn at bat came up, they either found a loophole out of it, or else ran like hell from the military (and the fighting) like Walz did. I'm still waiting to see if any of the RINO war-mongers, like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Lindsay Graham, etc ever develop the testicular fortitude to defect from their Republican labels into something more attuned to their war-drum beating proclivities and affinities. I'm not holding my breath for it, however. I don't think the entire bunch of them could summon up a single testicle among 'em, certainly not enough to stand with those of similar convictions. Now don't get me wrong, war is sometimes a very necessary thing in defense of hearth, home, and family... but not to the degree that modern-day Democrats and RINOs pine away for it. For example, they are the ones throwing all of our treasure at a Russian Civil War that we've got no damned business interfering in. That war isn't defending anything other than bankers and war profiteer's profits and a home-grown Ukrainian dictatorship. It's no surprise to me that we see Democrats and RINOs circling the carcass, looking for their next damned meal at the expense and deaths of others. But that's the Democrat Way, now ain't it? Ms. Gabbard is well shed of 'em. . . RE: Tulsi Gabbard leaves Democratic Party - F2d5thCav - 10-24-2024 At 727 ... Yes, a notable "defection". Gabbard's style would have worked for old style Dem party in Hawaii. Her eyes got opened by the DNC's processes for candidate selection. Cheers-- RE: Tulsi Gabbard leaves Democratic Party - SomeJackleg - 10-24-2024 don't get me wrong she made a smart move but, she'll more than likely become a rino before it's over. |
