What's up with all these mass stabbings lately? Must be a new trend because I don't remember there ever being this many in the past.
It also seems like people can't just go to concerts (or ant gatherings) anymore without ultra violence erupting.

Jared Leto made an astute observation that stuck with me for years, "Not every act of violence is committed with frenzy... They've made their choice and go and do something, and it's not in a frenzy. It's methodical and sometimes even hypnotic and deliberate."
This case demonstrates how one negative thought can give weak-minded, unstable people, easily influenced, the final push over the edge, to carry out what they must've been deliberating about for a long time. It must come as a huge relief, releasing pent-up stress.
It means he wasn't able to find a proper outlet for repressed urges.

Recently, I was reading an article by Roberto Assagioli, who points out how coddling pedagogy/overprotective mothers prevents their children from developing his own judgment, making them prone to falling under evil and harmful influences.

How ironic. Some of the best knives in the world are made in Solingen - I have two right here, a bone handled "Springer" switchblade, and an antler handled skinning knife, tiny but razor sharp, up to the task for which it was made.
Thank God they are giving up on "gun violence". "Gun violence" is just not violent enough. It goes too fast. Knife violence is what will really grab folks' attention!
The problem is, no one is addressing the violence itself, electing instead to concentrate on the implement used in the violence. The violence is what needs to be addressed, for without violent people engaging in violence, the implements just lay there and do nothing at all by themselves... but no one is interested in addressing the violence, it appears.
I have to wonder - what was the race of this attacker? Middle Eastern, perhaps? They do seem to like their knifings. If he was instead a German born and bred, then was he perhaps an "incel"?
They need to find the root of the problem rather than just slapping legislative band-aids on the implements. When all guns and knives are made illegal, the violent will just switch to other implements and keep right on going - they'll take up clubs, or hammers, or ball point pens, or whatever else they can get their hands on to do their violence, as the recent knifings attest. They seem to be concentrated in countries where guns are either banned or heavily restricted. Once the knives are under the same bans and restrictions, we'll start hearing about screw driver violence, or club violence.
When are they going to get a handle on what makes violent people act violently? Addressing only the implements of violence means that they've caught it far too late, after it has been encouraged to progress too long, right into violence.

I think that they create the problem. It is foolish to plant a potato, and expect to grow an apple. A single blackberry plant comes with many pleasant benefits. A blackberry plant left uncared for, can become a painful nightmare.
Immigrants allowed in in large numbers, without sponsors, housed together, is a recipe for disaster. They are strangers in a strange land, and will flock and bind with anything or anyone that looks or feels familiar. It creates a ghetto, and decreases the likelihood of assimilation.
If they are sponsored and housed in a community where they can learn the language and the culture, they can get a job and assimilate. Some people will call this isolation. However, it is the easiest and fastest way to assimilate a foreigner seeking asylum. If they want to assimilate.

For folks contemplating taking a walk on the wild side, through potentially knife-infested areas, the Cold Steel Walking Stick page has some interesting items.They're useful for walking, maintaining balance, etc... but they also have a great deal more reach than the average knife. They won't lay an opponent open, but with just a little practice they will prevent him from laying YOU open, and leave some interesting and colorful knots on his personage when he comes to from his attack.
In Europe, particularly the UK and Ireland, I'd try to stay away from the sword cane types, however. You don't really need it, the mating surface is a weak spot for failure upon striking, and unless you are trained to fencing, it would be more trouble than it is worth... and they tend to take a dim view of pointy things in those parts, anyhow. No need to get arrested or stabbed when you can just whack an assailant a few times from a safer distance and walk away nonchalantly while the attacker is waiting to wake back up.
The "walking stick" is also a wonderous aid in that nonchalant walking exit as well - with style!
That guy over there laying on the ground? I dunno what's wrong with him. He just fell asleep right there. Might be drunk. Better watch him...

i don't know a couple of them looks like they could bust someones melon wide open.
especially the AFRICAN WALKING STICK, BLACKTHORN SHILLELAGH, and the IRISH BLACKTHORN WALKING STICK.
and the couple with pig stickers in them, that would freak most cowards out soon as they saw it.
