An isolated population in a fruitful or even a barren environment can make for some interesting surprises.. What is surprising is just how soon things can change.

I suppose when starvation sets in any living creature will eat anything. I just learned a few years ago that squirrels and rabbits eat meat.

I have heard of frog-eating caterpillars but can't find a link. it bites under the frog's throat and froggy can't pull him off. sucks the life out of him, like a spider.

Butterflies are scavengers. I've seen them clustered on animal carcasses.
