The Navy is investigating what led to two service ships nearly colliding Tuesday in San Diego Bay.
The purported close call involved the guided-missile destroyer Momsen and the dock landing ship Harpers Ferry.
Officials did not confirm precisely what time the incident occurred Tuesday, but a video of the encounter was posted to Twitter at about 10:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time by the @SanDiegoWebCam account.
“Warship Chicken in San Diego Bay,” the text accompanying the video states.
The video shows Momsen and Harpers Ferry headed straight toward each other before each ship turns left.
The footage also appears to include audio of the ship’s crews communicating their moves.
While the ships were transiting in opposite directions “in close vicinity” Tuesday, both ships maneuvered to safety, according to U.S. 3rd Fleet spokesman Lt. Samuel Boyle.
There were no injuries or damage to the ships, he said.

A small jet plane veered off a Naval air base and crashed into the rocky banks of the San Diego Bay Saturday afternoon as impacts from Tropical Storm Kay rattled Southern California.
The Navy-contracted plane was attempting to land at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado when it slid off the runway around 1:15 p.m., according to Fox Weather.
The two people aboard the Learjet 35 were able to exit the plane and were being examined at a hospital, the report said.
The immediate aftermath of the crash landing was captured by the San Diego Web Cam, but visibility was too poor to see the landing, the camera operators said.
A lot of suspicious Navy 'accidents' & near misses the past 4 years. I'm surprised a Navy drone has taken that webcam out. Oh wait, nvm.

Just a hunch, but - my money thinks the near collision and downed plane were the inescapable consequence of some people refusing to properly appreciate some other people's preferred personal pronouns.
(that's a lotta "p"'s for one sentence)
...
Here is a question pertinent to that hunch:
Why aren't group pronouns given as much attention as personal pronouns?
Does this group have a preference?
How about - "us / we" ?
Should it be voted on?

I am going to get shot from a cannon for what I am about say. It is not going to sound good at all. But before you cut off my head, think about it for a second.
Past wars were fought by a bunch of old guys that lived in a state of mind that was battle riddled, battle worn, battle infused. They lived for nothing else but battle.
They used young naive boys, fresh off the farm or from some backwood town that lived for the excitement of being outside of their town, and lived off the romance of all the stories they would get to tell, if they got back home. Dying for country was sold as the highest honor back then.
Then came Vietnam. The young boys were not so gungho, they were smarter, and saw the government and the war for what it was. They were blacklisted, punished, and treated like scum. This marked the beginning of the downfall of our military.
Fast forward to today, you have a bunch of political military leaders, most that have never seen actual combat, trying to create a successful, and adept military unit from a bunch of young men and women that would have trouble frying an egg or tying their shoes, without support of their ever present cell phones.
They can't put down the cell phones long enough to drive around the corner, and can't sleep without them firmly planted in their hands.
They have no sense of teamwork, they each think they are unique and special, and everything is someone else's fault, someone else's responsibility, someone else's job.
How could anything go wrong?

I know, right? As much as I hate to agree on this, it's spot on! I'm so glad I'm retired. I don't think I could hack it in the military in these present times. I probably would be kicked out for some of the stuff I got away with back in the day. We worked hard and played equally hard. There was no social media, and no cell phones to record everything we said and did.

Bang-on correct.

Agree with ya on that note. I was thinking about the military degradation in general and aside from obvious rants that it's intentional...what if the intentional reasoning is being done by the parasite elites at the top of the Dem party and/or the Int'l banking cartel because they FEAR a strong military might decide to do a coup d'etat on them.? Sorta like a reverse Operation Northwoods back in the JFK days.
Likewise as a possibility of why Putin thought (at least on the surface) that he could march his army on a Sunday stroll to Kiev and takeover the Ukraine. Weaken/demoralize his own army and he also shit canned some of his generals as well because he feared a possible coup d'etat. May sound far fetched but it's been done before in the past and our current ruling-class elites will stop at nothing to maintain their power & control.
