Who would do this? - MisterSpock - 07-19-2023 As good a forum as any for this. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/07/man-finds-2-million-worth-gold-coins-buried/ Basically "Local Retard Strikes Gold, Immediately Calls 1-800-TAKEMYMONEY" This guy has to be a modern liberal(no relation to real liberals) or AKA a demtard. Why the hell would you tell anyone about this, let alone let the government in on it. He'll be lucky if he still gets to keep the pictures on his phone of all this gold, I'm guessing they will probably take all those too. Idiot. I'd rather hide it and hang onto it, even if I couldn't move it, just to keep the worthless government from getting their hands on it. 2 Million, they'll just spend it on a 24 pack of Bic Classic Ballpoints with nothing else to show for it. RE: Who would do this? - 727Sky - 07-19-2023 I see your point and then I get to thinking how would/could you spend any of the gold without the feds getting wind of your wind fall. At least this way he may receive a finders fee and avoid jail for cheating the all knowing government out of their cut/taxes. Find gold and be happy until you are sentenced to 20 years for tax fraud. ![]() RE: Who would do this? - Ninurta - 07-19-2023 I'm with you - why in the hell would anyone report that to the treasury or the mint? Personally, I'd dig it up and re-bury it elsewhere, somewhere I could keep an eye on... probably several different somewheres, smaller stashes. Then I'd sell it out a few coins at a time, different places - coin shops, pawn shops, etc, but never enough to get on the radar. Just a few grand a year. I'm a simple man with simple tastes, so I don't need a crap ton of flashy stuff to be bought with it, anyhow. Even if I had to sell it at melt value, that'd be enough to keep me happy. My first wife's great grand dad buried what was then about 30k worth of gold coins up a holler here. Then he died, and never told where it was buried. A lot of folks have tried to find it over the years, but so far, no one has... ... that we know of, that is. . Amen to that... Managing an extra couple hundred a month is all anyone usually actually needs anyway to give one a little more cushion in life, which is all most really need anyway. People who want to retire on an Island full of greedy hookers are pretty darn shallow. Besides, keep hearing that in a shtf scenario stuff like that makes a nice retirement plan - people will always rebuild society and monetary systems. End up a king someday, for those with aspirations... Lol. Right time, right place is all it takes. I would divvy it up among all my family. We would each get ten a piece. There are islands full of greedy hookers? Where are these islands? Nah, never mind - that would mean I would have to leave the house, and I'm just not up for getting out into civilization more than once a month anyhow... . RE: Who would do this? - Chiefsmom - 07-19-2023 LOL While I would love to retire on an island, sans the hookers, I'm with everyone else on this. Find that much gold, tell NO ONE. Sell a couple here and there. Hide the rest. Have the security of knowing I'll be ok. I'll be right over. Err, never mind, I don't have a land mine detector. ![]() RE: Who would do this? - Ninurta - 07-19-2023 (07-19-2023, 08:30 PM)EndtheMadnessNow Wrote:(07-19-2023, 06:17 AM)Ninurta Wrote: My first wife's great grand dad buried what was then about 30k worth of gold coins up a holler here. The rumor is that he buried it somewhere around his outhouse, but I think every square foot of that area has been dug up, and nothing. I think he probably parceled it out into smaller batches and buried them somewhere on the mountain, probably under the rocks that stick up out of the ground around there. . RE: Who would do this? - Infolurker - 07-19-2023 What a fool. That is all I can say. I would be dropping off a few at auction every couple of years through a 501© I would create. |
