They have the gumption to bestir themselves to "protest" on behalf of a bunch of cold blooded killers who would wipe them out at the drop of a hat if given the chance (those poor, poor, bloodthirsty murderous bastards!), but they DO NOT have the gumption to get off their asses and put the effort in to improve their own lives in the direction they would like to see them go.

Their priorities are all fouled up, and they will NEVER get the world they want, or the lives they want, with such screwed up priorities.

They think everything should just be handed to them with no effort on their part... and much of that attitude is OUR fault for handing them everything when they were children. But now they are no longer children, and cold hard reality in the real world is kicking their soft asses... and they don't have the gumption to change it.

None of the rest of us had anything simply handed to us. Not our generation, not our parents' generation, not our grandparents' generation. Matter of fact, the best service our parents and grandparents did for us was to instill that notion that you never get anything for nothing - you've got to put at least some effort in to get what you want. we did not teach our kids that, and now we are seeing the results of raising a lazy, shiftless, "Gimme" generation.

Now that is a generalization. There are those standout individuals in their generation that were raised right, have the gumption, and will get the lives they want and deserve. But, by and large, we raised the generation that will end the world, or at least humanity's presence (and influence) in it.

Shame on us.

Humanity has ONE hope, and one hope only - the old truism about generations that goes:

Hard times make hard men.

Hard men make soft times.

Soft times make soft men.

Soft men make hard times.

Humanity has only the hope that enough hard men will be produced to carry it through the hard times and make the world better. Most of the kids I see protesting these days are NOT those necessary hard men.
,

Yeah. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. We thought we were doing right by them, but we screwed up. Bad!

We made a mess that the future generations have to fix. We have given them nothing to work with, placed them in mental chains and trapped them in a fantasy virtual world as their only escape.

We placed over half of them on some type of mood altering drug from the time they were toddlers, and lied to them about their entitlements, and then tore them down for believing us. We taught them that every ill can be fixed with a drug. So it is no surprise that so many of them are addicted.

They are confused, misled, soft, lazy, shiftless, and without hope. We did that. And most of us are not ashamed of what we have done, and don't want to take any credit for it.

There are a handful that escaped the pit we made for them. Most of those have targets on their back and their battle will not be an easy one. Again. Thanks to us.

I pray they will overcome, even if they don't conquer.

Café owner Mike Alford said the dolls had been knitted by a group of "mature ladies"
for a "bit of fun" to help raise vital funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Service

'An unhappy grandma managed to censor some cheeky Morris dancer dolls being sold to raise money
for charity. A group of knitters were forced to cover up their five 'naked' creations after receiving complaints
about visible genitalia in the shop window. The dolls, which included a police officer, a vicar, a bearded man,
a woman in a scarf and hat, and a lady with pearls were being sold in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

Positioned in the front of The Hive cafe and haberdashery in the tiny town, they attracted plenty of attention
but some residents didn't see the funny side and made efforts to get them removed. The dolls, knitted to help
raise cash for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Service, were wearing only hats and bells around their
ankles.

The owner of the cafe claimed he was told that one of the locals did not want her grandchildren “looking at
genitals on their way to school”. Mike Alford has since decided to cover up the dolls with small placards
promoting the fundraiser but couldn't believe he had to keep the peace by taking the step.

Mr Alford told the BBC: “A couple of people that obviously use the route go to the school and they said
it was inappropriate to be in the window going to school. We felt that it was unjustified to a certain degree.
Say you went to Bath, the Roman Baths, there are more statues there, if you went on a school outing, that
have got more things showing than we do in our little window."

He said a group of skilled women who made the brilliant dolls had put “a lot of work” into the display. They
have been following knitting patterns from the book 'Nudinits: Bare-bottomed Fun from the Village of Woolly
Bush' by Sarah Simi and said it was a real shame that not everyone loved their efforts.

But that may not be the end of the story. This week a campaign has been set up on Facebook by locals
unhappy and the dolls being made to cover up. Save the Hive Five has seen members flock to try and get
nude justice for them - and hopefully raise a little more for the brilliant cause.

“It is the first window they put in for this year, and it has caused a bit of a stir amongst a couple of people
but for one figure it takes about one week - it takes a while to do and they are not easy at all," the cafe owner
added. “But in retrospect, we’ve made about £100 for the charity just today with people trotting in.”...'

being forced to admit animals were dyed chow chows

It comes after a cute black pup became completely white due to its rare condition

'A China zoo has been slammed for painting dogs to look like pandas in a bid to draw in crowds.
The rubbish dye job was quickly spotted before the Taizhou Zoo forced to admit the animals were
chow chows instead.

Squint and they're Pandas.

A picture of a ticket shared on social media included a snap of the "new species" as the zoo charged
£2.25 ($2.83) to see them during China's Labour Day holiday. Tens of thousands of people visited the
"panda dogs" every day from May 1 to May 5, Chinese media Jiupai News reports.

Clips taken by visitors appeared to show the pups with black ears, limbs, and dark circles around their
eyes, but their canine features were still very much apparent. The dyed pets sparked a wave of complaints
against Taizhou Zoo as furious visitors claimed they were mislead into believing they would see real pandas.

They also also questioned whether painting the pups would constitute animal abuse as some dyes might
contain harmful chemicals. Taizhou Zoo later admitted that the "fake pandas" were in fact dyed chow chow
pups who debuted their new look for the national holiday.

But despite the the confusing name, the zoo didn't seem to be trying to fool guests into thinking the dogs
were real pandas. A signboard with pictures of "panda dogs" was put up at the zoo, indicating that the
name is typically used to describe little dogs that, either naturally or by grooming, can resemble pandas.
A staff member said the zoo got the idea of dyeing the dogs into pandas online.

They told Jiangsu News: "This way, we will be able to add more fun into the zoo and boost footfall."
The staff explained that the zoo's relatively limited size prevented it from housing real giant pandas.
As for dyeing the dogs, they also did not see any ethical concerns, saying: "Normal individuals also
dye their hair. "As such, if dogs grow out their hair, they could also dye it. This is the same as human
hair."

The employee went on to say that the zoo did not charge extra to visit the "panda dogs".
Tickets for adults cost 20 yuan (£2.25), while tickets for children who are taller than 1.4m cost 10 yuan
(£1.12. $1.57)

Chow chows are a unique breed known for their distinctive lion-like mane. They are quite popular in China,
as they are one of the oldest and most iconic breeds originating from the country. Chow chows hold a
special place in Chinese culture and history, often depicted in art and literature.

While their popularity may have fluctuated over time, they remain a symbol of nobility and prestige in
Chinese society. Meanwhile, another zoo in China got itself in deep trouble after trying to pass a dog as
a ferocious lion. Visitors were enraged to discover that an animal in one of the cages was actually a chow
chow, despite a clearly placed sign claiming otherwise.

After taking her six-year-old son to the zoo, Sharon Liu told The Orient Today newspaper that she was
trying to teach him all the noises the animals make, but all she heard was barking. She said: "To use
a dog to impersonate a lion is definitely an insult to tourists." It comes after a black dog turned completely
white due to a rare condition, leaving its owner stunned by the shocking transformation...'

Quote:Dulwich neighbourhood living in fear of violent crow attacks - with bald men the main target

'Residents of a upmarket neighbourhood in Dulwich, South East London, are living in terror due to a
series of violent crow attacks which left a schoolgirl bleeding. Another recent video shows a mum
with a pram running away from an aggressive crow.

Footage also captured a cyclist being pursued by two relentless crows, screaming as one swoops
down on him. With close to ten incidents reported since last year, bald men are apparently being
the most common victims. Locals are now being advised to carry umbrellas for protection, with
one mum even resorting to wearing a bike helmet for added safety.

The Attack Of Corvus.                                                    The Swooping Ground.

Dulwich is known as one of the best areas to live in south London, having been home to celebrities
like Hollywood star Tom Cruise, former BBC newsreader Huw Edwards and ex-prime minister
Margaret Thatcher. However, overprotective crows guarding their young have earned a reputation
for attacking passers-by on the leafy Townley Road.

The nesting season for crows occurs between spring and early summer each year, during which time
parent crows can become aggressive to protect their offspring from perceived threats. Research has
shown that crows can recognise individual human faces and may even choose specific targets.

Bridget Furst, chair of the Dulwich Residents' Association, visited Townley Road last week after
hearing about the recent wave of attacks and witnessed one herself. "You can see the crows circling
around," she said. "They sit in the trees over the playing fields. As I turned into Townley Road a woman
was running away. She had a kid in a buggy and was looking over her shoulder. She was running so
fast we couldn't stop to talk to her - the crow was just behind her."

She explained that a wave of violent crow attacks occurred in previous years, too: "Last year someone
was sent to hospital after having his head pecked. There's a big crow nest near to where I live, but you
never get these sorts of problems. It's very strange...It's these particular, aggressive crows that have
caused people fear over the last two years."

Alison Frean, a mum-of-two who has lived on the road for around 18 years, has been attacked herself
several times. But the letting agency director, 60, fears there's little that can be done to stop the crows.
She said: "We've got these wonderful trees and we have nesting crows in them. When they have a baby
and it fledges, it drops down to the grass and the mummy, daddy and aunty crows protect it. Anybody
who passes by on bikes or walking - especially men with bald heads - they dive on them."

She continued: "Last year I was swooped on three times just trying to get out of my car. It was quite
traumatising... I tried to go out again with a bike helmet on." The gang of aggressive crows has also
taken to dive-bombing children on scooters. The issue has been ongoing for some time, with another
resident admitting, "Ever since we've lived here there has been a lot of crows and there's not really
anything we can do about it."

The problem isn't new, with many locals recounting tales of crow attacks over the years. Another young
man shared his family's experience with the avian assailants: 'It's really common on this road. They just
come out of nowhere and claw the back of your head. I see them swoop on the road and I think,
'Please don't get me'. What are you going to do? It's birds in a tree."...'

Now it has been reported that Clifford, who is the ex-boyfriend of Louise, briefly served as a
trooper - the equivalent to a private - in the Queen’s Dragoon Guards. A picture has emerged
showing the 26-year-old in his army gear holding a gun with a face covered in camouflage
paint.

One of his bosses, who saw Clifford join the Army in 2019 and went through Basic Training
with him, said he dropped out after he joined the Household Cavalry Regiment. He told The
Sun: 'When he joined the Army he was immature for his age and had a bit of a chip on his
shoulder. 'He struggled to grasp basic military concepts but managed to reach the standard
to pass out from training.

"After passing out he joined the Household Cavalry Regiment but I'm unsure how his career
developed from there. I hear he was working in private security so would indicate that he is
no longer in the military.'

Doorbell footage shows a man believed to be Clifford.                                 Map.

The horror of the attack unfolded yesterday, with doorbell footage coming to light that allegedly
shows Clifford striding away from the family home while carrying a large object underneath a
white sheet shortly before 7pm. Armed police and paramedics were filmed this afternoon
running into Lavender Hill Cemetery in Enfield as the hunt continued for Clifford, a former
soldier and security guard...'

Home secretary to 'swiftly consider' findings of crossbow law review

I've not had all my coffee yet, but I still managed to wrangle a couple of thoughts about this incident.

That's the problem with "commonsense gun control" - the next thing you know, you have to also start looking into "commonsense crossbow control", "commonsense knife control", commonsense crowbar control", "commonsense claw hammer control", and a host of other "commonsense" controls as bad guys simply move on to other implements of destruction to work their nefarious deeds. When will they look into common sense "commonsense control"? Maybe some "commonsense criminal control"? When will they start punishing criminals for their criminal acts rather than inanimate objects? And people wonder why I think the world is going to hell in a handbasket...

In one of the articles about the repeating crossbow, I saw the line, right at the beginning, that said "This might be the biggest innovation in the crossbow market ever – the Cobra Adder crossbow changes everything" "Innovation" and "changes everything" my ass. Repeating crossbows have been a thing for centuries already. Just day before yesterday, I was perusing a book titled "A Glossary of the Construction, Decoration, and Use of Arms and Armor in All Countries and In All Times Together With Some Closely Related Subjects" By George Cameron Stone. In it, just two days ago, I ran across an entry for a Chinese repeating crossbow that has been around for centuries. It apparently operates on the same principle as the "tactical Cobra" crossbow, with a sliding magazine cartridge operated by a lever that cocks, loads, and fires the crossbow. The ONLY difference is that the Chinese version had a top lever where this Cobra thingy has a bottom lever. Hardly "innovative" or "changing everything".

This gentleman was SO inept at killing, SO ineffectual at life, that even with a repeating crossbow, he had to TIE THESE WOMEN UP before he could hit them with his crossbow. That kinda negates the use of a crossbow at all - once he had them tied up, he could have killed them with anything at all... he could have choked them to death with a spool of sewing thread at that point. Can we get some "commonsense sewing thread control"? No damned wonder that his superiors in the military were "unimpressed" with him and drummed his inept-at-life ass right out! I feel like it's entirely possible that he may not last long in prison...

I recall another crossbow incident in the UK a few years ago. As I recall, it was a woman who defended herself from an attack with a crossbow, and who got in trouble for it. Apparently, in the UK they love their criminals as much as we do in the US, and will pass any law conceivable, no matter how ridiculous or misplaced, in order to protect them and keep them safe from their intended victims, up to and including outlawing any conceivable mechanical device that may inhibit the criminal's predatory attacks.

Now, in this case it was the miscreant who was armed (unnecessarily I might add, since he tied the victims up anyhow before doing them in - he could have tickled them to death with feathers after that! "Commonsense feather control"!)... but I can't help but wonder how it might have went if A) these women had been allowed to be armed with, say, a 9mm "equalizer" - how fares a crossbow wielding maniac against  several rounds of 9mm? and B) they had been allowed, under UK law, to defend themselves against violent attack in the first place?

I dunno. I just don't know. This clown world seems to have turned upside down so far that it appears to be right side up to some folks.

I'm just not one of them.

had to go back and reread biad's link, i guess i missed the " are thought to have been tied up".  but anyway anything that can be used as a weapon is good for a self defense unless the attacker has a firearm, seeing how it's in the UK maybe a metal wicket bat if they make them, if not wood would do just as well, they'd just have to put me in jail.

Quote:Talk about a close encounter.

One strip club in Florida is out of this world — and we’re not talking about the dancers, either.

Tampa’s aptly named 2001 Odyssey has become a genuine roadside attraction, thanks to the massive UFO — complete with colorful lights at night — sitting atop the building.

The club’s website notes it has been featured in films like “The Punisher” and the skater video game “Tony Hawk’s Underground.”

The story of the elaborate piece of rooftop flair dates back to 1969 — the same year Apollo 11 left Cape Canaveral for the moon — when a Finnish designer introduced the idea of interstellar, 500 square-foot modular homes, designed to evoke an alien craft.

They came with a deployable door hatch, porthole-like windows, and all.

But the “Futuro” concept dreamed up by Matti Suuronen didn’t land well with the public — an underwhelming amount of units were sold stateside and the business folded in 1975, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Still, Florida Futuro sales manager Jerry DeLong wanted to believe in the concept, his son Bruce DeLong told the outlet.

Jerry was a diehard lover of the Stanley Kubrick masterpiece and, with partners, opened the strip club in the 1970s in tribute to Dave and HAL 9000.

They took the display model from a Clearwater site and painstakingly craned it onto the roof — with the first try resulting in a wind gust slamming the ship into the building’s side wall.

Nowadays, new ownership is at the helm of Odyssey — DeLong became a Goodyear tire dealer after his partner got busted in a $1 million counterfeit cash scheme. The building continues to offer a glimpse of the future — as imagined in 1971.

A Google map peek inside shows a very antiquated, cramped main stage room with mirror ceilings, stiff metal chairs, some alien decor, and a neon carpet coveted by most bowling alleys.

There’s also a charming neon sign for the bathroom that reads “The Pisser” — right next to another “Make It Rain” one near an ATM that converts big bills into singles.

The interstellar enigma has been voted “#1 Full Nude Strip Club in Tampa Bay for 19 years running!” according to the club website, however the source of the award was unnamed.

The extraterrestrial theme has also been tried closer to home — Long Island City-based gentlemen’s club Gallagher’s 2000 at one time leaned into the concept with a notorious late-night commercial involving aliens seeing all sides of our solar system.
