It now shows up as a Wayback Machine cached page from April 1st, 2025, through the Cloud Flare service apparently.

Otherwise it says "Could not parse paths: invalid socket address syntax" or back to that other connect time out page.

The connection timeout error is "522"

So the domain is still active, the server is still there and turned on, but it appears likely that something on the server is hogging up resources, choking the server to death, and causing it to fail completing connections.

Also, that is a common error associated with Cloudflare. Though not necessarily a Cloudfare issue, but an issue with the origin web server due to misconfiguration, firewall issue or it's getting pounded to death & unable to respond.

I just checked the "who is" site for ATS and these were the details when I first looked and the site's data says it was refreshed 6 days ago:

Registered On: 1997-05-18
Expires On: 2025-05-19
Updated On: 2024-05-19

I then refreshed the details myself to see if anything had changed since their own update using the small symbol top right and it changed to:

Registered On: 1997-05-18
Expires On: 2026-05-19
Updated On: 2025-04-05

Something is afoot me thinks as there was an update three days ago somewhere by someone.

Maybe you are right TSK and jokes are being played.
Or maybe I am mistaking the dates or data when I refreshed the info.

I say cut that damn thread, pull the damn plug, and if ATS looks like it is suffering, pump it full of morphine and hold a pillow over its face.

I'm done with that board even if it happens to somehow survive all this BS. I'm moving on and I hate to say this, but obviously, the forum boards are dying off in favor of social media services like Facebook, Tic-Tok, et al (ugh!).

When I use the news feeds for my main input, I can have the best of those worlds without any real personal attachment as I would have on a board. The boards aren't moderated well enough IMO, even some social media, like Gab, could use tougher moderation. Also, I grow tired of the echo chambers, the opinions are too extreme and full of propaganda, left or right, and no middle ground to stand on.

I may just observe and toss a few things around on occasion to gauge the reactions here and there. Until I can find a truly serious group to join, probably an exclusive one, I'm not putting myself out there for any more BS. I refuse to cast pearls before swine any more, unless I want to learn something by doing that as an experiment.

I think you may be onto something with this, but I had a little variation on that thought. My theory is, it wasn't some alphabet agency, I don't think ATS, certainly near the end, was big enough for that. What I do think though is that possibly some PAC or similar group might have been keeping it afloat to see what kind of intel (aka, dirt) they might be able to pick up, or conjure up, on their opponent(s). And, this PAC (or whatever) was skimming money from one of the agencies or departments which DOGE exposed. Possibly like USAid, for example. They probably had their fingers into a whole bunch of other stuff too, and as long as the American taxpayer was giving them free money, well, why not?

Additionally, I use the words "pick up" and "conjure up" in two different contexts. By "pick up", I mean maybe see something that they weren't aware of which they can use to stack the deck against a rival. Conversely, but "conjure up", I mean try to uncover or expose some sort of an extremist group forming, or some kind of a plan, which they could use against an opponent. Two completely different objectives with the same ultimate goal.

In any case, I think the notion ATS's recent demise might have been a result of collateral damage due to some other (unrelated) action is not out of the realm of possibilities. The simple fact it was down for nearly 2+ months and then mysteriously popped back up again with no explanation is pretty good evidence (I think) that 'something' wonky was going on there.

Now the new site where many of the mods from ATS went and formed is under some kind of attack as you are taken to Google search as soon as the banner page at DI displays.
