Happy World Contact Day or Mass Meditation day. For those International Flying Saucer Bureau members, good luck on sending a telepathic message into space.

March 15, World Contact Day was first declared in March 1953 by an organization called the International Flying Saucer Bureau (IFSB), as a day on which all IFSB members would attempt to send a telepathic message into space.

IFSB members focused on the following message during 1953 that MUST be memorized!:

The 1953 celebration is referenced in the song "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft", created in 1976 by Klaatu and later covered by The Carpenters.

Now, replace "Concern over Atomic Explosions..." with A.I. that will continue for the next 5 to 50 years.

Albert K. Bender (June 16, 1921 – March 29, 2016) founded the International Flying Saucer Bureau (IFSB), the first major civilian UFO club in the world in 1952. Although the organization was a success at first, he suddenly shut it down in 1953 due to his encounter with three men in black. Bender suffered frequent headaches after the three men visited him and his co-workers reported that he seemed scared.

I have never heard of Klaatu.  Being Aussie I think.  If the original song had been released here then they may have outclassed the Carpenters.

I further listened to other tracks.  Some are as good as Queen.

I will explore their work further.  The original wording for the song coming from historic records intrigues me.

Thanks,

Kind regards,

Bally.  Great post.

Robert Ginna, (1925-2025) was the coauthor of the article, "Have We Visitors from Space?" that appeared in Life magazine on April 7, 1952, and reported on the revitalized USAF Project Blue Book.

UFO History - Have We Visitors from Space?
April 7, 1952 — Henry B. Darrach Jr. and Robert Ginna’s article, “Have We Visitors from Space?" It comes close to advocating the ET Hypothesis, and its primary sources are high-ranking Air Force officers. Sounds familiar.

Here's the thing about UFO lore I can't stand.

Underwater UFOs.  Way back in the 1960s, Ivan T. Sanderson wrote a nice little book about precisely that subject.  How many "ufologists" today have even heard of Sanderson ?

Sure

Quote:The 2004 encounter between U.S. Navy aviators and a mysterious TIC TAC shaped craft off the coast of Southern California was perhaps the most consequential UFO incident in history, but it wasn't just a one-off. Turns out, classic designs such as the SR-71, the Corvette Sting Ray, or a pair of Wayfarers never go out of style. Whoever was piloting TIC TACs back in 2004 is apparently still cruising the waters off SoCal. In this episode of WEAPONIZED, Jeremy and George unveil a never-before-seen video recorded by crew members of the USS Jackson in February 2023. Witnesses say they saw four of the TIC TAC objects flying in formation. At least one of the self-illuminated craft was seen as it emerged from the ocean. Two of them were recorded by astonished crew members inside the ship's command center. Who is flying these odd objects and why was this incident not reported up the chain of command or to AARO? Check out the exclusive video and additional info about the encounter.

April 8, 1952: Flying Saucers 'Explained' by Men of New Research University Here (LA Times)

Very few in the new age UFO community have ever heard of Thomas Townsend Brown.

Excerpt from Defying Gravity: The Parallel Universe of T. Townsend Brown; Chapt 56 All Flags Flying:
Quote:Long ago, when we first embarked on this quest to unravel and comprehend the life of Thomas Townsend Brown, even before we realized just how deep and dark a rabbit hole we were falling into, one of our ‘reliable sources’ told Linda Brown, ‘don’t let go of Sarbacher.’ We’re still trying to figure out exactly what that means. Indeed, the whole notion of “don’t let go…” is amusing, since it presumes that we actually have something to hang on to….

Robert Sarbacher is every bit as much a mystery figure as Townsend Brown — maybe more so, since there is even less public information about Sarbacher than there is about Brown. The little concrete information as there is about Brown actually serves as a blanket of disinformation, diverting any interest in this Sarbacher character. The more attention we pay to this vague and elusive figure of Townsend Brown, the less we’re likely to pay heed to this other vague and elusive guy, this Sarbacher. And Sarbacher, like our ‘reliable source’ implies, just might be one the keys that unlocks the whole puzzle.

The name of Robert Sarbacher is familiar to researchers investigating UFO and extraterrestrial contact conspiracy theories. His reputation in those circles derives from a limited number of published references, beginning with the notes of a conversation that Sarbacher had with Canadian scientist Wilbert Smith in 1950. It was Sarbacher who allegedly told Smith that “…flying saucers exist” and that they were “the most highly classified secret" in the United States at the time, classified “two levels higher than the H-bomb.” On that exchange is built the entire legend of Robert Sarbacher — such as it is.

Quote:Richard brings back Phillip Lavelle, who did a Seven-Part series with him on the JFK Assassination. Now that more JFK material has been declassified, Richard asked Phillip to comment on the often-discussed linkages between JFK and UFOs. Specifically, they discuss claims by Douglas Caddy, former attorney for E. Howard Hunt, regarding claims that JFK was assassinated due to his intention to disclose the alien presence to the Soviet Union. They also discuss two key disputed documents: the November 12, 1963 memo in which JFK directs the CIA to discuss UFOs with the Soviets, and the August 3, 1962 CIA memo about Marilyn Monroe, which mentions "things from outer space" in a context clearly referencing UFOs.

April 19, 1897, the famous Alexander Hamilton cow napping hoax! This case even fooled Ufologist Jacque Vallee for a long time. It was a hoax that was committed by a 'liars club'. Admitted a few weeks later in the newspaper.

Airship History - The Kansas Calfnapping Hoax of 1897

10:30 p.m. Rancher Alexander Hamilton, his son Will, and his hired hand Gid Heslip are awakened by a noise in the cattle pen of their ranch at Yates Center, Kansas.

They watch as a 300-foot-long, cigar-shaped airship with a carriage underneath descends to about 30 feet above the ground. Two men, a woman, and three children are heard talking in the carriage.

They see a calf caught in a nearby fence with a cable knotted around its neck that connects to the airship above. They cut the cable and the airship floats away. A few weeks later, Hamilton admits he made the story up.
