I got banned last year for reasons unknown and decided to take a break which has now been an extended break and given the shenanigans by the new owners I decided to stay off. I skim that thread now & then. I think a few found me on Gab, though I'm not really that active on it either. Kinda got burned out if you know what I mean.

Oh good God, I know exactly what you mean.  I've been going to TOS less and less over the past 5 years.  Constantly the same toxic people showing up.  Differing opinions are good, but not to the point of stupidity, and it's gotten STUPID over there.  Some of the non-political threads are interesting, but they're increasingly rare, and I rarely bother to comment.

I can't imagine the job this guy has.  It must be a weird mix of rewarding and disheartening.

It is infuriating to have a job where you pray every second that you do not have to do your job. You pray that one day your job will be obsolete, and that no one will ever need you. A job where you pray for the strength, the fortitude, and the determination, to be the rock that that child will need to survive the Hell they have had to endure. 

Feeling sorry, and being pissed may be enough to get you through it, but is does nothing for the victim.
