Here we are right before cold and flu season and the FDA has done a study and found that the active ingredient in some cold medications, Phenylephrine, does not work.

They are saying these medicines may be pulled from the shelves. There are several people, that I know, who say these do work for them. I’ve not had any luck with them, when I’m congested I go to the pharmacy and get the kind with pseudoephedrine.
It may be nothing, but the timing of this has me wondering. Why now. According to this article they met back in 2007 and agreed this ingredient didn’t work, so why didn’t they pull them then?
