Trump says he’s suspending his ultimatum on Hormuz by another 10 days. Markets were getting antsy, because even investors with their willing suspension of disbelieve knew this weekend looked bad. So Trump conjured up talks with Iran and stretched his fake deadline.

Do you remember this Iranian influencer in the US who danced with happiness when her country was attacked? She just lost her cousin in a strike on Iran. War is not so fun now is it. They turned her into an OnlyFans model and ate her soul. Course, she could be lying to get sympathy clicks.

Japan will deploy about 1,000 combat troops to the Philippines for the 2026 Balikatan exercises, the first such deployment there since 1945.
One of the many unexpected outcomes of this war is that it has made Iran the most popular country in the world. NYT paints an surreal picture of degraded American military bases into unusability across an entire theater, simultaneously. As far as I know, no other U.S. adversary has achieved that, ever.
As the article describes, "there were close to 40,000 U.S. troops in the region when the war started, and Central Command has dispersed thousands of them, some to as far away as Europe."
Those troops that do remain are "not on their original bases" but have been "relocated to hotels and office spaces throughout the region."

Quote:Japan to deploy troops for ‘biggest’ Balikatan drills to date
Ties between the Philippines and Japan have significantly improved over the past eight decades since the war. Tokyo is now one of the Philippines’ biggest aid donors, and the two countries are working more closely to strengthen their security ties in response to China’s increasing aggression. The Philippines and China remain at odds over the South China Sea, which Beijing claims almost in its entirety. Japan also has a territorial dispute with China over uninhabited islands in the East China Sea, claimed by Beijing but administered by Tokyo.
The upcoming Balikatan exercise, tentatively set from late next month to early May, is expected to be one of the largest ever, even as Washington wages war in the Middle East. While the AFP has yet to release details of the drills—including the number of troops and assets involved—Brawner said he received assurances from United States Indo-Pacific Command chief Admiral Samuel Paparo Jr. that the exercises “will still be the biggest Balikatan exercise despite the war going on in the Middle East.”
One of the many unexpected outcomes of this war is that it has made Iran the most popular country in the world. NYT paints an surreal picture of degraded American military bases into unusability across an entire theater, simultaneously. As far as I know, no other U.S. adversary has achieved that, ever.
