Great show! One of my favorites as a kid.
Yeah, there's about 1,000 different variations on that joke. They're all fun. I don't know, but that's a little joke which never really seems to get old.
One of the better ones I've seen is a fairly long version which goes into the Fugawi tribe in quite a bit of detail and their personal characteristics and tendencies. It's like (10) jokes all woven into (1) final punchline with "Where duh fug are we?"
It talks about how the Fugawi are two feet tall, and weaves this yarn about how the grass grew three feet tall for many years and they were perpetually lost. Talks about how they all got drunk and partied all the time, and fights and other stuff. It's quite a bit to memorize, but to hear someone tell it who knows it by heart is pretty hilarious. I knew this one guy one time, just a natural born comedian; funniest guy I ever met. He'd tell the joke as a follow up to someone else telling the regular Fugawi joke. He'd be like..."Hey! You know, the Fugawi have a really, really, interesting history!" And then he'd launch into a series of like mini-epics, each one of them hilarious as hell, people would be rolling around laughing. It was great. He could tell the Fugawi joke with all of it's parts over several hours. I must have told that guy a thousand times to go into comedy as a profession because this guy was just flat out funny. He worked in the most boring, anti-social, career imaginable; I think he was like a CPA or something, or some kind of a tax accountant where all day is spent just quietly crunching away on financial numbers and reading dry tax code / regulations. And he was quick too. Just couldn't be more opposite in terms of work versus non-work.
