More on the Wisconsin Lights:
ETA: It took me all day, but I got this video watched. They spent an inordinate amount of time discussing searchlights, because apparently a lot of folks are claiming they are some kind of search light. It can be conclusively proven that they are not ground-based searchlights, because they disappear behind cloud edges. If they were ground based, the spot of the beam would just skate merrily along the base of the cloud, and they wouldn't disappear behind the cloud. Not sure why no one thought to point that out in the video and have done with that line of inquiry.
