What could possibly go wrong?
I am sharing this with RN for just a little thought, and because I know of a person that did this and that was the question I asked her, while taking to her in the hospital.
Disclaimer: What happened to her really was not directly related to rental agreements she had with several migrants. But I want to see if anyone comes up with something that I missed.
This guy came up with a couple good points, but he was just preaching to the choir, he came up with nothing new for me. I can see nothing good coming out of this, but that may just be my conformation bias talking.

This is bait. Once someone is in your house, you may never be able to get them out.
Sure, there are numerous issues with this:
1) Predatory landlords / owners - We all know how this works, how many stories have we heard about sex predators preying on women and children once they have some kind of leverage on your well being?
2) 180 of number 1, Who the hell are you housing? Are you going to get stuck with an adult or teen male criminals of the worst type?
3) He does mention this one: You cannot evict them once they are in ever when the city stops paying you. This was the first thing I thought about before starting the video. You basically lose your rights to your own house / apartment. Squatters rights forever.
4) You know, he could call out the problem.... His party is insane and is intentionally flooding the country with migrants to cause chaos in the hopes of a mass amnesty to lock in their power with new fresh socialist voters.
5) Why are you not doing this for American homeless (including homeless Veterans?)
6) This is a manufactured crisis and can EASILY be solved.

Another thing that they don't want to talk about, is that a lot of the people that come here are being assisted to come here by human trafficking groups. Many are children and end up in homes of people that are strangers. Many are used in criminal activities where they take advantage of the migrant and our system.
And of course that translates into another cost to the American citizen.
I have had patients that were living and paying rent in houses and trailers with four and five other families. Those situations by themselves are criminal, unsafe, and unhealthy.
There is no benefit to the migrant at all, just a more barbaric form of inhumane slavery.

I would like to make an observation as a person who grew up and lived a vast chunk of my adult life in South Texas around legal and illegal immigrants from Mexico and south and central America. You might disagree but what I have to say is the truth and has come from the mouths of more Mexicans to my ears than most of you will ever personally see much less meet in your lives. The majority of them despise black people and are racist as hell!
In their cultures the lighter their skin the higher they are in the pecking order. This goes back to the days of the first Spaniards there. Lighter skin means more respect, more opportunities. In the US upon seeing an attractive man from south of the border with an unattractive and/or obese white woman the first thing most people think is that he's with her for a green card and while in some cases that might be true more often than not it is an attempt to make taller, lighter skinned children.
So who do you suppose will be the first to jump on offers of housing the illegal immigrants for the hoped for paycheck of $125 per day? I can almost guarantee it will be poor black families. Rich white people aren't stupid enough to take them in, not many hispanic families will either unless they have personal ties. So poor blacks living below poverty levels will jump at the opportunity for free money.
Now how do you suppose it will work out? Taking in people who most likely despise them for money that might never come and who they wont be able to evict if it all goes bad? This will not end well in a whole lot of cases. If the mayor's plan comes to fruition be ready for NYC to be in the news a hell of a lot more than they already are.

I have noticed this not just with Hispanics. I have a Chinese friend that describes herself as "White Chinese". You have 'White" Asians, Indians, Hispanics, and the lighter the color of anyone's skin in almost every country, is viewed as an attractive characteristic, even among American Blacks.
I just recently saw a YouTube video where several African leaders were speaking out about the lack of respect that the United States has for Africans, regardless to whichever country they are communicating with, and that they are reducing their business with America and are doing more business with China and Russia because they treat then with more respect.
Unfortunately, I believe that will be short lived, once they get what they want. Then they will treat them the same way that America does.
You are right about the poorest in New York that will see this as a possible wind fall, will suffer the greatest, but in the end, we will all suffer.

Up side: This has a great potential to rid America of a whole lot of the more dumbassed New Yorkers.
Other "imaginative" solutions:
1) House the newcomers at Riker's Island, then deport them back to from whence they came. Riker's ought to be damned near empty now since Alvin Bragg decided to stop arresting criminals, so there ought to be plenty of room to house them as they come in, until they get sent home.
2) Put all of the newcomers on big rafts, and house them off the coast in the Atlantic Ocean. Then send out F-16's to sink the damned rafts. Problem solved.
3) Put a big high-voltage fence around New York City. Wait 4 weeks, the air-drop one pallet of groceries into the city center. Let whomever survives the rush to get to them live. Wait 4 more weeks, and air drop one more pallet of groceries into the center of the city. Wash, rinse, repeat, until New York is empty enough to pave it over as a big parking lot to be shared between Philadeplphia and New Jersey.
Seriously. New York is as much a lost cause as California. There is no sense, and no profit, in trying to save either of them. Just let them both eat themselves up. While we're at it, just start letting Chicago fend for itself as well. I'm tired as hell of letting these Marxist strongholds simply drag the rest of the country down.

The magical pace for such an endeavor is every 4 days to get the biggest bang for your buck.
