Creator of Russia’s Sputnik Covid vaccine strangled to death with belt in Moscow apartment in latest
mystery murder

'One of the creators of Russia's Covid vaccine has been found brutally strangled to death in his Moscow apartment,
in the latest mystery murder surrounding the country's elite. Andrey Botikov, 48, a top Russian scientist who developed
the Sputnik V vaccine, was reportedly murdered with a belt during an altercation with an intruder in his home.

His body was found at his home in Moscow on Thursday, Russian media reported. He had strangulation marks on his
neck, as well as stab wounds and abrasions on his body, according to reports. The Investigative Committee of Russia
(ICR) has now opened a murder investigation into the death. A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged with
killing the leading virologist during a row over money.

Russian media has identified the suspect as "Alexei Z," and described him as a former convict who spent 10 years in
prison on charges of providing sexual services. In a statement, the ICR didn't name Botikov, but said investigators had
identified and located a suspect "in the shortest possible time".

The ICR went on: "During the interrogation, he admitted his guilt, he was charged. "Previously, the defendant was
prosecuted for committing a serious crime." Botikov had worked as a virologist at the Gamaleya National Research
Center since 2014, helping create Russia's Sputnik V Covid vaccine.

Putin's scientists hailed the vaccine as having a 91 percent efficacy during clinical trials, far higher than other Covid
vaccines. For his work, Botikov was honoured by Putin with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland award in 2021.
Botikov's death is the latest mystery fate to befall a member of Russia's leading scientific and political elite since
the start of the war in Ukraine.

Last month, a former Putin spy and an ally of Vlad were found dead hours apart in separate incidents in Russia.
The body of Vyacheslav Rovneiko, 59, who founded Russian energy giant Urals Energy with the son-in-law of Putin's
predecessor Boris Yeltsin, was discovered at his house outside of Moscow late at night. Hours later, it was announced
that a former politician in Putin's United Russia party on trial for bribery had died in custody.

Andrei Bralnin, an elected official in the town of Kotlas in Russia's Arkhangelsk region, was awaiting trial for allegedly
taking bribes. Also in February, a top Russian general was found shot dead, just a month after he was sacked by
Vladimir Putin.

Major General Vladimir Makarov, 72, was found dead at his home near Moscow from an alleged suicide following his
axing from his job combating "extremism" for Russia's Interior Ministry...'

Quote:Marius Gustavson, 45, allegedly removed men's penises and testicles for his website, along with eight other people, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard on Wednesday.

Norway-born Gustavson is accused of being at the heart of a wide-ranging conspiracy, involving up to 29 offences of extreme body modifications, the removal of body parts, the trade in body parts and the uploading of videos.
The group allegedly brought in some £200,000 in income from their extreme actions.

Gustavson is charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent between January 1, 2016 and January 1 last year and five counts of causing GBH to five alleged victims.

The GBH charges include the removal of a man's penis, the clamping of another's testicles and freezing of a leg which required amputation.

Gustavson, from Tottenham, is also accused of acquiring or possessing criminal property, making an indecent image of a child and distributing an indecent image of a child.

He himself has had his own leg, penis and nipple removed and appeared in court in a wheelchair.
Gustavson appeared alongside Peter Wates, 65, from Croydon, who is charged with conspiracy to cause GBH with intent. Wates is alleged to have been involved with nine of the 29 incidents.

Ion Ciucur, 28, a Romanian who works in a hotel in Gretna Green, Scotland, is said to have been involved in two incidents. Ciucur, who appeared separately, faces the same count of conspiracy to cause GBH.

All three men were remanded in custody ahead of their next appearance at the Old Bailey on April 19.

Three other men, named as David Carruthers, Janus Atkin and Ashley Williams on the indictment, appeared in Newport Magistrates' Court, in South Wales, charged with being involved in the same conspiracy.

They will appear at the same court on the same date for a plea hearing.

Nathan Arnold, 47, from South Kensington, west London, Damien Byrnes, 35, from Tottenham, north London, and Jacob Crimi-Appleby, 22, from Epsom, Surrey, also appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday each charged with a single offence of causing GBH with intent.

Arnold is alleged to have removed Gustavson's nipple, Byrnes is accused of removing his penis and Crimi-Appleby is accused of freezing his leg requiring amputation.

None of the accused have entered any pleas yet.

They are said to be part of a secret society where men voluntarily remove genitalia and body parts.

This is thought to be linked to a "nullo" subculture - short for genital nullification.

Police said anyone who had any further information should call 0208 785 8267 quoting Op Vicktor.

That true, however, many of these evil humans summon evil deities through their bizarre ritual practices to become even more evil. Some of these new ager UFO cults dating back centuries are deep into this worship belief system. Most people don't believe in it and that's why they continue to persist (& influence) like a poisoned thorn in society. AI is the next (fake) thorn to doom & turn society, imo. David Lee, someone who took the idea of Icarus too far?

Gulls on the roof of South Tyneside Magistrates' Court could be heard calling out as the bench watched CCTV
of the 'bizarre' incident. Lesley Burgess, prosecuting, told the court Lee chased one bird before picking up a
smaller gull - and was caught on CCTV performing a sex act. He then gave the bird a 'little kick', the court heard.

Lee was arrested at a nearby takeaway and told police he picked up the gull because he thought it was hurt and
was looking on his phone to find out what he should do. But instead of searching for a vet's phone number, as he
claimed to have done, police checks revealed Lee had actually been looking at porn sites, the court was told.

Annalisa Moscardini, defending, said Lee has a history of 'mental ill health' and asked for a psychiatric report to
be prepared ahead of sentencing. Magistrates adjourned the case for sentencing at 2pm on May 23.
Chairman of the Bench, Fay Gilbert, told Lee: 'The word "bizarre" has been used on more than one occasion.

'I have to say that, as experienced magistrates, it is one of the most unusual cases we have come across in the
magistrates' court. 'We do find this to be a deliberate or gratuitous attempt to cause suffering to an animal, or
shall we say, a bird, and therefore we feel that a psychiatric report would be most appropriate in this case.'

Ms Burgess said the prosecution will ask for an order preventing Lee from owning animals.
Anna Malia, founder of North East Animal Rights group and volunteer with animal charity, Pawz for Thought,
condemned Lee's actions. She said: 'We are satisfied with today's outcome. It sends a clear message that
animals are innocent and humans are not superior. 'When this bird was ill and in need of medical attention,
they were captured, brutalised, and kicked aside when the perpetrator had finished with them.'

She continued: 'We want to say a huge thank you to Northumbria Police and PC Peter Baker for their dedication
and commitment to bring this case to court. We want to send a message to those who think it is acceptable to
hurt wildlife - we will find you, we will pursue you through the legal system with all the publicity that may bring.'...'

Quote:'Time traveller' claims to have gone 6 years into future and shares how humans are extinct
The man shared videos of empty streets, restaurants and shopping centres, claiming he has travelled to the
future.

A TikTok user named Javier, from Spain, claimed he has travelled to the year 2027 and documented his trips
on the social media platform. The man also claimed that humanity has become extinct as no humans are around
in his videos from 2027.

[Image: Time-traveller-4722481.webp?r=1682862568725]
Empty... too high prices or extinction?

In the videos, that have gone viral on the social media platform, Javier shows empty places and claims that all the
buildings, cars, and streets are deserted. On his TikTok channel @unicosobreviviente (which in English means "the
only survivor"), the man shares footage of empty restaurants and clothing stores.

He filmed the empty streets of the city of Valencia and Madrid, in Spain, where no humans can be seen.
Javier also visits department stores, shopping centres, bars and supermarkets claiming he is the only one there.
Electricity and internet, however, seem to be available in 2027 as Javier can upload his videos to the social media
platform.

The TikTok user also travelled to other European cities, such as Paris, where he filmed the empty streets and even
the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre museum with no tourists. In Paris, he shared a clip with the caption: "I've been 11
days in Paris on my own." Javier films unused petrol stations, airports and train stations and he also takes on
challenges from his followers.

Some social media users asked him to go inside the airport or to the football stadium in Madrid.
Others challenged him to sneak into a Spanish military base, which he did in one of his videos, and to film himself
cycling inside a clothing store. Javier is not the only one claiming he has travelled to the future as another TikTok
user, @2029man also known as “The Messenger”, tells his followers predictions in his social media channel.

The man reportedly predicted in January 2021 that the US Congress would reject the electoral college decision on
the 2020 presidential election. "This will lead to Nancy Pelosi becoming president on January 20. Be ready,” he said.

There have been many alleged time travellers in history, including Swedish man Håkan Nordkvist.
He claimed that he was accidentally transported to 2046 when he was trying to fix the sink in his kitchen.
In the future, he claimed to meet someone who was him in 70 years and whom "had a great time".

He actually filmed a video of the two showing the same tattoos they had on their arms. The documentary was later
confirmed to be a marketing campaign promoting the insurance company AMF.

Although many people are fascinated with the idea, time travel has not been scientifically proven, and as Stephen
Hawking said in his book Black Holes and Baby Universes, "the best evidence we have that time travel is not possible,
and never will be, is that we have not been invaded by hordes of tourists from the future”...'

Quote:The voluptuous statue of a mermaid placed in a square in a fishing village in Puglia, southern Italy, has caused a stir for being “too provocative”.

The statue was created by students at the Luigi Rosso art school in Monopoli before being positioned in a square named after the scientist Rita Levi-Montalcini.

The artwork, which is yet to be officially inaugurated, became a target of ridicule after photos taken during its installation were shared on social media.

The Bari-based actor Tiziana Schiavarelli wrote on Facebook that a friend in Monopoli had “rightly expressed some perplexity about this ‘monument’”.

“It looks like a mermaid with two silicone breasts and, above all, a huge arse never seen before on a mermaid. At least not any I know.”

Schiavarelli stressed that she did not have an issue with the art students or the local council, which had commissioned the work. “But I am very amused by this thing … who knows if it will become a further attraction for tourists,” she added.

Adolfo Marciano, the headteacher of the Luigi Rosso art school, defended the statue, saying it was a “tribute to the great majority of women who are curvy”. He explained that the students were tasked by the mayor of Monopoli to create several statues for the town, including one on the theme of the sea.

“The students got together and came up with the idea of a mermaid,” Marciano said. “The council was shown the scale model and said it was good, and then decided the completed sculpture would be placed in the square.”

Marciano said he did not want to cast judgement on the students’ inspiration, but that he viewed the work “as a representation of reality, in this case of the female body”.

He added: “You see adverts on television with models who are very thin, but the mermaid is like a tribute to the great majority of women who are curvy, especially in our country. It would have been very bad if we had represented a woman who was extremely skinny.”

Beppe, who lives in Monopoli, said the sculpture, which has been kept covered until its inauguration, had caused much discussion in recent days, with some people criticising it as “too provocative”.

“It’s a shame as the art students deserve to be praised instead of criticised,” he said.

The students also created a statue dedicated to the victims of workplace accidents, which will be unveiled on Monday. “This is much more important than the mermaid,” said Marciano.

Female statues in other areas of Italy have caused similar controversy. In 2021, a bronze statue portraying a woman in a transparent dress in the Campania town of Sapri sparked a sexism row. The work, by the sculptor Emanuele Stifano, was intended as a tribute to La Spigolatrice di Sapri (The Gleaner of Sapri), written by the poet Luigi Mercantini in 1857. The statue, which was branded “an offence to women”, was unveiled during a ceremony attended by the former prime minister Giuseppe Conte.

When you sometimes become weary in your occupation and wish you could just grow wings to get away from it all,
there are jobs out there that just might be right up your alley!

Quote:Blackpool Zoo's seagull-scaring jobs attract 200 applicants

'Nearly 200 people from around the world have applied for jobs at a zoo to wear bird costumes as part of official
seagull-scaring duties. Blackpool Zoo in Lancashire advertised after bosses said peckish pests had been persistently
stealing food from visitors and animal enclosures.

[Image: _129447229_7f11bd20-f806-4fb5-af76-7818f...f.jpg.webp]
When parents beam with pride.

The zoo said people had applied for the roles from as far as Australia, India, Uganda and war-torn Ukraine.
Applicants have even sent in videos of themselves already dressed as birds. The successful candidates would join
the "visitor services" team as "seagull deterrents", the attraction's advert said. Five positions are available at £10.80
[$13.49] an hour.

The zoo said those taking on the roles would need to be "outgoing" and "comfortable wearing a bird costume". It is
unclear whether the outfit would match the inflatable eagle in the image shared by the venue. There is precedent for
attractions and other commercial enterprises using birds of prey - both real and fake - to deal with feathered frustrations
such as gulls and pigeons, including hawks deployed at tennis tournament Wimbledon. And local authorities have tried
various other measures to crack town centre winged woe, including lasers and special bins.

The advert reads: "As a seaside resort, Blackpool is not short of seagulls. However, the seagulls are proving to be a bit
of a nuisance when it comes to trying to steal food from our visitors and our animal enclosures. "We need to do what we
can to keep the seagulls away from our main visitor dining areas." Khaled Fawzy, the zoo's section head for birds and
events, told the BBC: "It's gone crazy since the advert went out.

"We've had applications from all over the world with people sending videos of themselves dressed as bananas, pineapples
and of course birds. Some of it has been a bit bizarre."...'

'A penis-shaped iceberg has been given an X-rated name after being spotted floating near a town called Dildo.
The huge iceberg was spotted by Canadian photographer Ken Pretty near the coast of Dildo, in Newfoundland
and Labrador.

Insert bawdy comment here:

After going viral, residents dubbed it the 'Dickie Berg' due to its phallic-like shape. Speaking to the Toronto Star,
Ken said: "The resemblance is… you know, it’s good, right? It’s unreal how much it looked like part of the male
anatomy."

Ken sent out a drone camera to capture the penis-shaped iceberg in its full form before it started to melt away.
He added: "Looking from the land, it wasn’t quite clear, but once I got the drone out there, it was unreal how
much it looked like, well, you know.

"People don't believe it’s real. They think it’s photoshopped… I can tell you, it's real."
Sharing his photography on Facebook, users couldn't help but joke about its likeness to the male reproductive
system. One user said: "Mother Nature does have a sense of humour!" "Pfft, it’s just average-size," another user
added. A third user said: "That's just the tip of the iceberg." "I'm sad it's melting away ... how fast they age," one
more user added. Another user said: "That's some hard ice. Talk about Northern exposure."

The Newfoundland and Labrador's government has a dedicated Iceberg Finder website - and has identified 66
icebergs currently passing its coasts . They're urging people to maintain a safe distance, equal to the length of
the iceberg, or twice its height, whichever is greater, when venturing out to go iceberg hunting.

A statement on its website reads: "When it comes to viewing icebergs, this is one of the best places in the world.
" From April to August, these 10,000-year-old glacial giants are visible from many points along the northern and
eastern coasts, especially on clear, sunny days.

"They come in every shape and size, with colours from snow-white to deepest aquamarine.
"Despite their arrival from the Arctic every spring, and their disappearance only months later, our awe of them
remains new, year after year."...'

Quote:The FDA said it "has significant concerns of bacterial contamination" in the test kit solution in some Pilot COVID-19 At-Home Tests.

Using the contaminated solution "may pose safety concerns" as well as cause the test to give an inaccurate result.

The agency warned tests should be thrown out immediately.

Over 500,000 tests were distributed to the CVS drugstore and around 16,000 were distributed to Amazon.
None were made available through one of the federal government's testing programmes.

Contaminated tests can be verified by the lot numbers on the FDA's website.

The liquid in the test kits was found to be contaminated "with organisms such as Enterococcus, Enterobacter, Klebsiella and Serratia species" that could cause illness for people with weakened immune systems, the FDA said.
It urged people to be vigilant "for signs of bacterial infection", which could include "fever, discharge, red eyes, or any other concerning symptoms".

Evie Baik, a spokesperson for SD Biosensor, told the BBC's US partner CBS News that raw materials from one of their suppliers is the likely source of the bacteria. They have cut ties with that supplier and are tightening quality control efforts.

The issue "was identified during routine quality assurance testing", Roche said in a statement, according to CBS News.

SD Biosensor and distributor, Roche, have said they are cooperating with the FDA and are working with distributors and retailers to hold back tests while the matter is investigated.

RE: The 'Weirder' Side Of News! - BIAD - 05-11-2023

Sometime back in 2019, a strange phenomena arrived at a quiet out-of-the-way community in England.
With the sound of rubber being chafed beneath a grunting from his mask, a dark figure stepped onto the media stage
and enjoyed the limelight and the terror he brought to the small sleepy Somerset villages of Claverham and Bleadon.

In our older archived website, I relayed serious accounts on how the individual known as Gimp Man frightened lesbians
and lunged at a lady who had the wherewithal to take a photograph of her approaching groin-touching attacker. It was
pure horror down there in the tail-end of western England and the bungling Bobbies-on-the-beat had no clue as to where
the squeaky-suited culprit would strike next.

Curtains were drawn early and apple-picking in the Somerset orchards were finished before the sun went down for the
next three years as the shadow of the Gimp Man cast its fear across the county known for its Cheddar Gorge and Medip
Hills.

But now... Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him.

Man suspected of being Somerset Gimp appears in court after ‘jumping in front of car’

'This is the man who is accused of dressing up in a full body gimp suit in order to terrorise women.
Joshua Hunt, 31, appeared in North Somerset Magistrates' Court today charged in connection with a number of incidents
in the area. The defendant, from Claverham, Somerset, did not indicated any pleas regarding the four charges he is facing.

Prosecuting, Leanne Gover, said Hunt had approached two lone women drivers on separate occasions on May 7 and 9
last year in the Bleadon area. She said both women were left fearing about what was going to happen to them and
suffered “immense distress as a result”. One woman is said to have been “struck with horror” while the other described
herself as being “terrified”.

Following Hunt’s arrest a flick knife is said to have been found in his van. On October 25, 2022, Hunt is alleged to have
grabbed his penis over a gimp outfit whilst “gyrating against the floor”. That incident was witnessed by two males, who
are said to have recorded the actions on a mobile phone. They called 999 to report the incident.

Ms Gover asked for Hunt to be remanded in custody. She told the court he had made comments about taking his own
life, and the Crown Prosecution Service are concerned about his safety. David Fanson, defending, said his client was not
fit to give him instructions and was currently "on watch" in custody.

The magistrates remanded him in custody. He will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on June 7.
The hearing follows several reports over the years of a man lurking in villages dressed in a latex suit...'

Media will never allow old Nessie to die.

Quote:Loch Ness Monster hunter: I thought this job would be easier

Steve Feltham has dedicated his life to solving the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster.

He gave up his job and sold his home in Dorset to move to Dores on the shores of the loch in 1991.
Now, after more than 30 years of searching for Nessie, he said he thought the task would have been easier.
Mr Feltham made his first sighting of something unexplained within his first year of his search, and had hoped to make further sightings soon after.

He told BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland programme: "I had one glimpse of something like a torpedo going through the water.

"I did think this job was going to easier as I had a sighting in the first year and I thought it wouldn't be long until a second sighting would come along."

Mr Feltham added: "And that is where I'm stopped, at that moment, still waiting for that second glimpse of something unexplained.

"Because I am here full-time I speak to hundreds of people who do report something that we can't identify."
Mr Feltham's dedication to his search saw him named Ambassador of the Year at the 2016 Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards.

He had previously been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Record for the longest continuous vigil hunting for the Loch Ness Monster.

The Nessie hunter's continuing efforts come 90 years after what is described as the first modern sighting of a monster.

In April 1933, hotel manageress Aldie Mackay told of seeing a whale-like creature and the loch's water "cascading and churning".

The Inverness Courier newspaper reported the sighting and the editor at the time, Evan Barron, suggested the beast be described as a "monster" - kick-starting the modern myth of Nessie.

In an interview years later, Mrs Mackay said she had seen something "black, wet, with the water rolling off it" moving in a circle. She described it as a "beast" to her husband.

The legend dates back to the Middle Ages when Irish monk St Columba is said to have encountered a creature in the Ness, a river that flows from Loch Ness.

But in 2019, scientists reported the creatures behind repeated sightings may be giant eels.
Researchers from New Zealand catalogued all living species in the loch from DNA extracted from water samples.
Following analysis, the scientists ruled out the presence of large animals said to be behind reports of a monster.

No evidence of a prehistoric marine reptile called a plesiosaur or a large fish such as a sturgeon were found.
Catfish and suggestions that a wandering Greenland shark were behind the sightings were also discounted.

Jings and Help Ma' Boab, yon beastie will show itsel' soon, you mark ma' words!
Silly season is just around the corner and with the trend of using unpronounceable names still being
vogue, a story of the Loch Ness Monster surfacing can be a canny vehicle to use for such fashionable
an inclination!

Quote:Loch Ness Monster PROOF? Nessie hunter finds 'most compelling evidence yet' in the water

Veteran Loch Ness Monster hunter' Eoin O’Faodhagain says he has captured 'compelling' footage of
a 'very large live creature' swimming through the water at Loch Ness late at night.

'A Nessie hunter claims they have captured the 'most compelling' evidence yet of the mythical monster after
spotting a monstrous creature making its way through the famous loch. Eoin O’Faodhagain, 58, was watching
Loch Ness via webcam when he spotted the enormous presence, estimated to be over 25ft long, on the far
side of the water.

What Eoin saw on the webcam.                                     Enlarged.                                      A smiling Eoin.

The veteran Nessie enthusiast is convinced that the huge size and humped shape of the creature, combined
with the way it moves through the water, make it an exact match for the Loch Ness Monster. He said: “If there
was ever a sighting that was supposed to be the Loch Ness Monster, this sighting fits the bill.

“Something alive ploughs through the loch showing plenty of movement, and shows at times something sticking
out of the water, like a neck or black humps. “This is very large indeed, considering the normal length of creatures
that live in Loch Ness. “Its size alone would rule out otters and seals, and the speed it generated definitely rules
both of these animals out. “It is the most compelling footage I have captured of a very large live creature in Loch
Ness.”

The sighting was captured at Shoreland Lodges, near Fort Augustus on the loch’s southern shore, where Visit
Inverness Loch Ness (VILN) maintains a webcam. It was recorded at 9.55pm on Monday evening, several hours
after the day’s last tourist cruise - a "nice time" for the beast to rear its head, Eoin said.
He added: “This is no pleasure craft of any sort, but actually a very large live creature.

Mr O’Faodhagain is a prolific source of webcam sightings, often logging on to watch the water from his home in
County Donegal. But even for him the sighting stood out, and believes we are "definitely on track for a vintage year
of sightings of the Loch Ness Monster".

Thanking Visit Inverness for setting up the webcam, he said: "I am already on this track, and it is great to have access
to the loch view through the VILN webcams to record these sightings.”...'

Mr O’Faodhagain seems a very chatty person from his home in Ireland and is courteous enough to mention
tourist businesses of the area. A more cynical person than myself may wonder how The Mirror News-Outlet
obtained this well-knowledgeable account and images.

Although, this gentleman is mentioned as a prolific source of such sightings as The Inverness Courier in 2022,
The Daily Mail in March of 2023, The Scottish Daily Express of the same month and The New York Post from
last year. (Although the image provided was from someone called 'Eoin O'Fagan'!)

Quote:The grim discovery in the village of Luzino in the northeast of the country found that some of the 450 skeletons had been beheaded and their skulls placed between their legs and a coin placed in their mouths.

The practice which was common in the region during the 19th century was believed to remove the ‘vampire curse’.
Archaeologist Maciej Stromski said: ‘We discovered examples of belief in the dead returning from the grave, which could only be stopped by decapitation.

‘It was believed that if a member of the deceased's family died shortly after the funeral, then he or she could be a vampire.

‘Therefore, after burial, the grave was dug up and the deceased's head was cut off, which was then placed in the legs.

‘We also discovered an example of a woman after decapitation.

‘The skull of a child was laid on her bosom.’

He added that in around 30 percent of the graves uncovered, researchers had also found bricks placed next to the skeletons’ legs, arms and heads.

In September last year, the remains of a 'female vampire' pinned to the ground by a sickle across her throat and a padlocked toe to 'prevent her returning from the dead' were also found in Poland.

The site of the excavation in Luzino, Poland. Archaeologist Maciej Stromski said that in around 30 percent of the graves uncovered, researchers had also found bricks placed next to the skeletons’ legs, arms and heads.

Discovered during archaeological work at a 17th century cemetery in the village of Pien, researchers also found the skeletal remains had a silk cap on its head, indicating she had held a high social status.

Records of myths about the undead date back as far as the 11th century in Central Europe.

People feared that some who were buried would claw their way back up to the surface as blood-sucking monsters, and terrorise the living.

It is not uncommon the region to find burial sites where a metal rod - or a stake - have been hammered through the skull of the deceased.

People at the time believed this was one way to ensuring the person stayed dead.

According to the university team, she had a silk cap on her head – indicating high social status – and a protruding tooth. Strangely, one of her toes was also secured with a padlock.

Professor Poliński explained to the Daily Mail that padlocking the big toe on the skeleton’s left foot likely symbolised ‘the closing of a stage and the impossibility of returning.’
