RE: Turn off all electronic devises - Ninurta - 08-14-2024 Even though I am a cousin of the gents who tested their flying machine made of balsa struts and ripped up pants at Kitty Hawk in 1903 (the same year my grandpa was born, BTW), I too am convinced that heavier-than-air flight boils down to some arcane magic, making pilots sorcerers. When I drop a model of an airplane off my balcony, it simply plummets to the ground and smashes. Clearly, their are some demonic forces that cause flying machines to not do that. My question is: if those electronic devices somehow interfere in the magickal forces at work during the first 15 minutes of flight, what prevents them from interfering with the same during the remainder of the flight? If my phone will cause horrible things to happen during the first 15 minutes that cause the flying machine to drop out of the air tragically, why does it not do the same at 16 minutes? . I think about the stuff we did with helicopters when we were young bold and stupid and I realize I am lucky to be alive as many other helicopter pilots were not so fortunate. Glad I had a good life but I was lucky lucky lucky and I should always be thankful in a well considered no shit manner ! RE: Turn off all electronic devises - EndtheMadnessNow - 08-15-2024 I'll fly in an airplane if I have to but NEVER a helo. Those death contraptions scare the hell outta me. I guess I'm still traumatized after a helo crash when I was in the Navy. Luckily, we weren't still over the ocean AND not too high off the ground, no fireball, but it was enough to jack up my spine. I had won the lottery while onboard ship and got a free one-way helo ride to the Philippines. I learned a hard lesson that day.
