Hobs, Bogles & Boggarts. - BIAD - 02-19-2024

Where the damp mist swirls and the forlorn call of the Curlew speaks for the forgotten,
there are those who seek the folklore-world rarely glimpsed.
Shocked

You know, the past couple of weeks, I've found myself wondering what has happened to Master Erwin Saunders. These seem like topics that would be right up his alley.

Apparently, I failed English folklore as I had no idea.

If Erwin is on some sort of sabbatical, he's abusing the time for sure!
I would think his selling of lino cuttings must be taking a hit from his lack of YouTube access
and I seriously doubt he's been ousted from the platform due to any UK 'Guv'ment' department
finding his footage contravening the MSM's usual narrative of reality!

I do keep an eye out for him and Tom, but he seems to have dropped off the map.

Seems that these paleolithic and bronze age ritual and burial sites are inhabited by "hob and boggart" nature spirits now. I have heard this about other places like castle ruins, wells or springs and abandoned areas like old mines and the like. It seems more like a haunting from ancient human spirits that are now considered part of the land. The image of them has changed from people into nature spirits over the ages. It's like Henry Hudson's crew in the story of "Rip Van Winkle".

Quote:On nearer approach he was still more surprised at the singularity of the stranger’s appearance. He was a short, square-built old fellow, with thick bushy hair, and a grizzled beard. His dress was of the antique Dutch fashion: a cloth jerkin strapped round the waist—several pair of breeches, the outer one of ample volume, decorated with rows of buttons down the sides, and bunches at the knees. He bore on his shoulder a stout keg, that seemed full of liquor, and made signs for Rip to approach and assist him with the load.
