I have been to many of the places shown and I will say without the bugs and the heat they are beautiful !

I agree, though I didn't mind the heat. I was awe struck by all the fantastic landscape. At the time I felt like Alice in Wonderland. A few of my old Navy buddies retired there.

Yes, the bugs. They never mention the bugs. I've never been there, but holy hell that place is beautiful.
They'll tell you to come gaze upon the majestic wild horses of Assateague, but they don't mention that you'll be blitzed relentlessly by those FUCKING horse flies.
