The Netherlands - F2d5thCav - 11-23-2023

So a right wing candidate appears to have won a plurality of the national vote (Geert Wilders)

Doesn't mean he will be the PM as he needs almost double the seats in parliament than his party currently has in order to form a government.  He may be able to form a coalition, but that works both ways.  The Euroleft is certain to form awkward coalitions just to keep him out of power.

Cav take: Right wing politics haven't been popular in Europe since 1945 as Adolf burnt everyone out with his version of those.  But for the last three decades, the Euroleft has consistently disregarded the interests of their own people in order to encourage migration from other regions of the world into Europe.  Things are getting feisty; once quiet cities in Sweden become "grenade attack capitals of Europe" etc.  And the average Europeans are slowly getting fed up with it all, thus right wing and populist candidates are garnering more of the vote.

Sweden, Italy, and now, the Netherlands.  The Eurocrats in Brussels are NOT happy with these developments.

Cheers

The long running Marxist propaganda in Europe is getting exposed.

Cool

I don't understand Europolitics. Specifically, I don't comprehend how a small gaggle of Left-wingers can thwart the will of the Subjects and prevent their choice from being installed as PM. Yes, "Subjects". Citizens rule the government, but government rules "Subjects".

Why bother letting them vote at all if you're just going to over-rule their choices?

Maybe torch and pitchfork time is drawing nigh for Europe.

Ninurta-- this is why one sees the awkward "grand coalitions" in various European countries.  The establishment parties band together to keep the nationalists out, even if normally those establishment parties would be at each others' throats.

Their political systems allow it, but it makes a mockery of democracy.

Cheers

I don't know if you know , but Hitler was a Neo socialist (nazi) . Definitely not 'right-wing'. Those are lies spread by the "elites' to further their destructive agendas.
I'm rooting for the Netherlands, hopefully it's not too late to turn the tides and stop the slow destruction of their culture/identity.

I reckon the closest thing I could compare it to here in the US is the way the Democrats and the Neocon wing of the Republicans rallied together to "get Trump", or the way that the people of Virginia elected a government that they intended to pass "constitutional carry", and then the Democrat minority conspired with the Neocon Republican Speaker of the house to make sure that didn't happen.

Can't have us pesky peasants running our own lives and providing for our own security, now can we?

In Virginia, I believe that's why we got a narrow Democrat majority in the legislature this go round - folks sat back and said "Huh. Why bother voting for them if they're not going to do what we tell them to do when they get in office?" and just sat at home on election day sharpening their swords...

... and pitchforks.
